Time Tramples Iwo Jima Image to Push 'War on Global Warming'
In
our nation's history, there are few images more heroic, more sacred in
a civil sense, than that of the Marines raising the flag at Iwo Jima.
Time has now twisted, and enlisted, that image for its "war on global
warming."
Time editor Rick Stengel, making his regular Thursday appearance on Morning Joe to tout the week's cover story, naturally thought it was a wonderful idea. He also explained why Time decided to editorialize in favor of a "massive" effort to combat global warming.

Yesterday in Puerto Rico, a bombshell fell on Barack Obama’s hopes to at least win a small percentage of primary votes in said jurisdiction (he was only receiving 20% of support in the polls). This “bomb” goes by the name of Larry Sinclair and his allegations of homosexuality and cocaine use against Barack Hussein Obama, which happened to go ‘prime time’ yesterday throughout the Island.
For those of you who do not know the story, Larry Sinclair is a gay man who claims that ‘when Barack Obama was a member of the Illinois Senate he met twice with Larry Sinclair in November 1999 in Chicago, obtained cocaine for the both of them and consumed it (crack cocaine smoked through a glass pipe in the Senator’s case). On both occasions they also participated in consensual sexual acts with each other.’ After his allegations became known through his Youtube video (WATCH HERE), a website (WhiteHouse.com) offered Larry Sinclair money in exchange for his taking of a polygraph test on their site. On the site, they constantly assured the public that they were going to video-record the proceedings and post it on their website, all in hopes of giving full disclosure of the results. As many of you may remember, this supposed video was never posted/published (never has) and, running late on their own schedule, decided to ONLY post a brief description of the “analysis” of the results (supposedly provided by two independent researchers which claimed that he had failed it). Obviously, since the video of the process was never presented to their readers, it automatically opened speculations and accusations from Sinclair himself (and many in the public) that these individuals were probably “paid off” by David Axelrod and the Obama campaign. To prove this point, Sinclair has posted multiple copies of the checks, letters and other documentation with which he claims to demonstrate the contention that he actually passed the test, but was later betrayed by the site with the publishing of the incorrect analysis of his results. Nonetheless, Larry Sinclair continued his quest to expose Obama for what he describes as “his lies and drug addiction”, and continuously attempted to get his allegations heard.
Ever since Sinclair came out with the story, he alleges that his life has been threatened and that his person has been defamed throughout the internet by Obama’s supporters. For this exact reason, Sinclair has brought suit against a couple of these “bloggers” for defamation and threat of violence, both of which he claims are directly linked to the Barack Obama campaign. In relation to this suit, and very recently, (African American) Federal District Judge Henry Kennedy (view BIO HERE) decided to go forward with said case and has allowed discovery of it’s allegations to begin in their entirety, setting up one of the biggest scandals that has ever befallen a Presidential candidate, at least in recent political history. To further complicate the controversy, Sinclair has also sent an affidavit to the Chicago Police discussing the ‘Donald Young connection’ and is aggressively urging a further investigation into his death and connection to the Obama camp.
This
additional and strange leg of the story claims that a recently murdered
(gay) Choir Master of TRINITY UNITED CHURCH, by the name of Donald
Young, contacted Sinclair multiple times about this whole issue of
Obama’s relationship with Sinclair (apparently under the instructions
of the Obama campaign), even admitting to having homosexual relations
with Obama himself. Here is the copy of Sinclair’s affidavit to the
Chicago Police: CLICK HERE
The subsequent death of this gay man (who belonged to Obama’s church)
is quite mysterious and it has not reached the Mainstream National
news. Nonetheless, you can still read the following story from CBS, in
which they simply mention this very violent and nebulous death in
Chicago: CLICK HERE
All of this disturbing information will probably have to come out with
greater detail during the mentioned Sinclair court case, since it is a
crucial aspect of Sinclair’s claim that the Obama campaign has launched
a concerted effort to defame and threaten his life.
Now, all of this controversy has reached the important primary “State” of Puerto Rico, were the show “Super Xclusivo: La Comay”, the highest rated and most popular show on the island (for the past decade), dedicated an entire hour to the discussion of this story and to the interview of Larry Sinclair himself (you can watch a custom recording of yesterday evening’s airing of “La Comay” by clicking HERE). The program’s style and it’s “classification” is quite difficult to explain to the majority of Americans, since this Country doesn’t have an equivalent. For the sake of definition, let’s just describe it as a “gossip, news, commentary, investigative-reporting, and comedy-variety show.” As an example of their influence and importance within local culture (and to dismiss the speculation that this program may be “inconsequential”), the program’s impact is so dramatic that every Gubernatorial (and legislative) candidate in recent Puertorican history has gone ‘live’ on said show to be interviewed by both hosts. A few years back, a highly controversial but popular ex Governor (Pedro Rosello) decided to run again for the Governorship of the Island, but refused to go on said show (Super Xclusivo) saying that he “didn’t speak to dolls”. Because of this, his popularity went down precipitously (also helped by getting ‘ripped’ on a daily basis by the show itself) and he lost the Governorship by a wide margin. The man who actually dedicated most of his time to being interviewed by the program’s hosts, and who took the show seriously (Anibal Acevedo Vila) ended up winning the election (and thus invited both ‘characters’ to the Governor mansion to celebrate his victory). His candid participation made him appear attuned with “the common people”, and also gave him wide exposure, since this program is turned on in almost every Puertorican house at 6:00 PM.
Therefore, this exposure to Sinclair’s story is HUGE in Puerto Rico, since it is not only getting ventilated by the most popular show on the island, but it is also getting attention by it’s parent company Televicentro (the highest rated channel on the island), which happens to be the only remaining Puerto Rico owned Media and News source on the Island. Interestingly enough, this controversy is not only damaging to Obama because of the drug-use aspect (smoking marijuana in Puerto Rico could easily label you a ‘junky’ by most), but an even more dramatically damaging aspect of the story is the whole “homosexual” dynamic of the story. Puerto Rico, after all, is a highly socially-conservative Nation, and the idea of having a “gay” President (even a small town mayor) is disturbing enough to ostracize Obama from almost every serious political discourse (and public support). It is well known among most Puertoricans (even the most Liberals) that even slight rumors about the supposed sexual “flimsiness” of a particular candidate is enough to destroy their political hopes in PR politics (case in point: Bhatia).
For Barack Obama, this couldn’t have come at a worse time since he was expecting to at least survive the Island’s primary election with a few proportional delegates. But now, with this story, and with his only main supporter in the Island’s political elite (the highly unpopular Governor of Puerto Rico) now facing Federal criminal charges, this controversy will assure a clear loss among the few primary participants that will provide with 55 delegates to the Democratic victor (the amount of voters will be small in proportion to it’s population since there is no political tradition in PR of participating in U.S. primaries).
The question about all of this remains: Will this have a trickle down effect into the United States? Unlike American journalists, the Puertorican press WILL ask Obama about this controversy if he ever decides to show himself on the Island, whenever it’s primaries become inevitable. Will the Mainstream Media pick up the fact that the whole Sinclair story is now MAINSTREAM in Puerto Rico, or will they decide to ignore it? It is clear that even if reporters in the United States decide to air a criticism of Puerto Rico’s “negligence” or “audacity” in publishing this story, Sinclair will automatically become the main theme and will thus inevitably spread throughout the Country.
Day by day, this story approaches critical mass, and we can slowly start getting ready to prepare for the diverse names that may begin to be utilized to describe it; GAY GATE, CRACK GATE, SINCLAIR GATE, LIMO GATE, et al. Irrespective of the veracity or integrity of this story, it is nonetheless true that these allegations will eventually come to fruition among the corporate press (maybe closer to November), and it is now only left to the Mainstream Media and/or the Obama campaign to deflect it as best they can and see if they can survive it. Apparently, Donald Young and Larry Sinclair have just become household names in Puerto Rico, it will be only a matter of time until they become part of the American lingo as well.

Eagle Forum: Stop immigration flood
By PAUL PAYNE
THE PRESS DEMOCRAT
Sunday, March 30, 2008
But other attendees said the overriding message of the annual conference of the Eagle Forum of California was to get America to simply enforce the laws that exist.
"It's not a hate thing or a prejudice thing," Scott Weiss, a salesman from Santa Rosa, said during a break. "It's about laws. We either live by the rule of law or we don't."
Eagle Forum is a conservative group founded by Phyllis Schlafly in 1967 that claims a national membership of 80,000 people. It focuses on social issues, describing itself as a pro-family, anti-feminist and supporting establishment of English as the official language of the United States.
According to its Web site, Eagle Forum opposes all variations of amnesty and guest-worker visas. Its first task is to assimilate the millions of non-English-speaking foreign nationals who are legal residents, the Web site states.
The daylong conference at the Doubletree Hotel included talks from conservative speakers such as Schlafly, columnist Jerome Corsi and U.S. Rep. Duncan Hunter, a former Republican presidential candidate from San Diego County.
It drew people from across the state, including a large contingent from Sonoma County, said Orlean Koehle, state president, who spoke about the emergence of the North American Union and its European parallel.
Pamphlets floated around the room urging a boycott on Mexican travel and vendors offered documentaries claiming to debunk global warming, among other issues.
No opposing views were voiced, but Roberto Garcia, a United Farm Workers organizer in Santa Rosa who plans to be part of an immigrant march today in celebration of Cesar Chavez, said Eagle Forum members appear to live in a bubble when it comes to the issue of immigration.
"How about we focus on who's preparing their dinner tonight?" said Garcia, who did not attend. "That nice wine they like to sip? Who picked those grapes? They don't take into consideration that it is the immigrant community that keeps our country, the U. S. of A., moving forward."
Among the most strident speakers was Barbara Coe, an anti-illegal immigration leader from Anaheim, who said the flood of illegal immigrants is overwhelming public schools, hospitals and the criminal justice system.
"How ironic that our government slams the front door on terrorists, but they are welcomed via the back door," said Coe, director of the California Coalition of Immigration Control.
"Taxpayers are footing the bill for these so-called instant citizens," Coe said, referring to children born in the United States to immigrants.
The meeting drew a large number of senior citizens. Among the few younger people to attend was Joseph Nicolini, 20, of Lodi.
Standing in the lobby with his brother Paul, 16, Nicolini said the government must stop subsidizing illegals and close off the border.
"It's our country and we don't want to see it go down," Nicolini said.
Koehle, who makes her home in Santa Rosa, has organized several statewide meetings in Sonoma County. She called the focus of this year's conference, American sovereignty, one of the key issues facing the nation.
"We feel this is a major concern," she said.

Does Obama know America?
By James LewisWhen I hear liberals talk about this country I don't recognize the place. It's just as if they never talk to their own neighbors or go to their local market. The Left seems to constantly misunderstand normal people in a really paranoid fashion.
"Only Malcolm X's autobiography seemed to offer something different. His repeated acts of self-creation spoke to me. The blunt poetry of his words, his unadorned insistence on respect, promised a new and uncompromising order, martial in its discipline, forged through sheer force of will. All the other stuff, the talk of blue-eyed devils and apocalypse, was incidental to that program, I decided. ...
"And yet, even as I imagine myself following Malcolm's call, one line in the book stayed with me. He spoke of a wish he'd once had, the wish that the white blood that ran through him, there by an act of violence, might somehow be expunged." (italics added)
No wonder it's hard to recognize his notion of this country. Barack Obama could profit from ten years away from the Senate, away from the elites, away from the self-destructive paranoia of the inner cities. Maybe he could try to run a business, like George McGovern. Maybe he should try teaching --- at a neighborhood school, not a law school.

Lt. Col. Allen West and Michelle Obama
By James LewisI just sent my first political contribution to the Congressional campaign of former Army Lt. Colonel Allan West, who is running on the "R" ticket in Florida House District 22 --- that's in Broward County. Colonel West is a man who has proved himself, not just in the rigors of combat, not just in leadership, not just in the technical craft of military tactics and strategy, but in the most difficult life-and-death dilemma a human being can face. He made an agonizing moral decision to save his men from a likely ambush. To do so, he shot off a pistol next to the head of a suspect, forcing him to confess vital lifesaving intelligence. Col. West didn't do that to punish the man, but to save lives. It worked.
When Col. West reported his own actions to superiors, he must have known that his decision would cost him his military career. He might have ended up in prison for years. He knew it would lead to months and months of personal agony. But he made the right decision in the face of a life-and-death moral dilemma.
I think I know what kind of a human being Colonel West must be, and I'm deeply pleased to support him. We need many more like him in the US Congress, because he is an adult who can make a moral decision under immense pressure. Far too many of our politicians just slip around real moral decisions; those are the people we don't need as leaders.
Consider the contrast with other people in the news.
Michelle Obama, the wife of the Senator, is a bright and talented woman. Perhaps she was unlucky to go to Princeton University and Harvard Law School, because she has now become deeply cynical about this country. That's not surprising, because our top universities teach their students to be cynical. They think it's terribly, terribly sophisticated. All their friends are cynical. Worse than that, they think their cynicism is true.
So Mrs. Obama can say things like ""for the first time in my adult life I am proud of my country." She means it. She believes it. But she utterly lacks a mature perspective on that question.
Here's what a Staff Sergeant who served with Colonel West has to say.
SSG Josh Turner
Nov 29, 2007 SIR, YOU MAY NOT REMEMBER ME, MY NAME IS JOSHUA TURNER. I WAS IN 2/20 WHEN YOU WERE IN COMMAND AND DEPLOYED WITH YOU IN 2003. I WAS A SPC AT THE TIME, I JUST WANTED TO SAY THANK YOU FOR ALL THAT YOU DID IN IRAQ TO SECURE THE SAFETY FOR US AND TO STAND UP FOR US SOLDIERS. SIR, I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE I CAN SAY TO RELAY THE DEEP FEELING OF GRATITUDE I HAVE FOR YOU AND YOUR ACTIONS. I HOLD YOU EXTREMELY HIGH IN REGARDS TO ALL THE COMMANDERS THAT I HAVE SERVED WITH. SIR, YOU ARE WITHOUT A DOUBT THE MOST REALISTIC, DOWN TO EARTH, CARING, PASSIONATE COMMANDER THAT I HAVE EVER HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE WITH. THANK YOU AGAIN FOR THE SACRIFICE THAT YOU MADE FOR US. SSG TURNER, JOSH "YOU DO NOT NEED TO EXCERT FORCE TO SHOW POWER"
What's the difference between these individuals? Age, education, income, race? My guess is that it comes down to the culture of victimization versus the culture of earned pride. Mrs. Obama's high-priced education has persuaded her that she is a victim; or if she personally happened to luck out, she has been told that millions of others are helpless victims. They cannot be trusted to survive as self-sufficient adults.
Well, victimization is a self-fulfilling prophecy. So is honest pride and self-confidence. (This is not news to anybody but our professors on the Left.)
For some mad reason our best universities now teach self-victimization, especially to Blacks and minorities. They thereby handicap and undermine the very people they claim to help. It's bizarre beyond belief, but not for our perverse Left. Fortunately some of our institutions, like our military, still inculcate pride based on real achievements. The colonel didn't get his chestful of ribbons for being a victim.
It's the Hurricane Katrina story all over again, pitting New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin against United States Army Lt. General Russell Honoré. Mayor Nagin panicked when Katrina hit, and thousands of his constituents ended up miserably stuck in the flood, waiting for somebody to help them. In General Honoré 's immortal phrase, City Hall was "stuck on stupid," along with the rest of the political class.
"Don't Be Stuck on Stupid" is a phrase that should be emblazoned in every single schoolroom in the country. Forget giving out gold stars for self-esteem. Just tell our kids not to get stuck on stupid. To drown in the culture of victimization in the land of opportunity is really being stuck on stupid. It is teaching people how to starve in the midst of plenty.
Electing Lt. Col. Alan West to Congress sounds like a good way to start getting our political class off being stuck on stupid. When he gets to Washington, D.C., he may have find new depths of toleration and patience with the idiocies of the political system. But the more people like him we can send to Congress, the healthier we will be as a country.
My big question is, how do we get General Honoré to run for office?
Oh yes, and all four of these folks are African Americans: Col. West, General Honoré, Mrs. Obama and Mayor Ray Nagin.
So what? Victimhood and earned pride are human universals.

I agree with much of what the following writer points out, although, I blame our being shut out of ANWAR and off-shore drilling by the communist, America-hating environmentalist as the reason we are dependent upon the untrustworthy Middle Eastern countries for our oil supply.
Oil dependency is America’s ruin
By GAL LUFT
By now it is abundantly clear that the U.S. economy is in dire straits. What should also be clear is that the path to economic recovery will be compromised as long as America is dependent on imported oil to the degree that it is while oil continues to hover over $100 a barrel.
At current oil prices, this country sends overseas $460 billion per year to finance the daily buying of 12 million barrels of imported oil. This amount of money is about the size of our defense budget and three times the size of the ”economic stimulus” package recently passed by Congress. But the real economic impact of oil dependence is hidden to most Americans. Energy economist Milton Copulos (who passed away this month) calculated last year that the grand total of all external costs associated with foreign oil dependence — including the cost of oil-related defense expenditures, amortized cost of supply disruptions, and lost economic activity and tax revenues — stands at $825 billion per year.
A double whammy
To put the figure in perspective, this is equivalent to adding $8.35 to the price of a gallon of gasoline refined from Persian Gulf oil, making the cost of filling the gasoline tank of a sedan $214, and of an SUV $321. At today’s oil prices, these costs would be even higher.
For the U.S. economy, oil dependence is a double whammy. While it contributes to our economic decline, it allows OPEC governments, many of which do not have our best interests in mind, not only to laugh all the way to the bank but to literally own the bank. The recent buyout by foreign governments of chunks of America’s prime symbols of economic prowess — like Citigroup, Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, Blackstone Group and Bear Stearns — is only the preview to what is yet to come should the petrodollar fueled transfer of wealth continue.
To understand the forces at play it is instructive to visualize the scale of OPEC’s potential wealth in comparison to that of the consuming countries. At $100 a barrel, OPEC’s oil assets stand at roughly $92 trillion, equivalent to almost half of the world’s total financial assets and nearly twice the market capitalization of all the companies traded in the world’s 27 top stock markets. If one adds the worth of OPEC’s huge gas reserves as well as additional oil reserves that have not yet been discovered, the wealth of OPEC more than doubles.
If oil prices climb to $200, as President Hugo Chávez of Venezuela recently warned, this wealth would double again. While the value of the dollar and the U.S. economy is shrinking, OPEC’s monumental wealth enables its countries unprecedented buying power. As an illustration, at current oil prices it would take OPEC just six days to buy GM and three years to buy a 20 percent voting block in every S&P 500 company. It is hard to see how such buying power amassed by oil producers would not upset the West’s economic and political sovereignty. At the current rate of investment, foreign governments are likely to be increasingly willing to translate their wealth into power, dictating business practices, vetoing deals, appointing officers sympathetic to their governments, dismissing those who are critical of them and imposing Islamic laws on Western corporations.
Since stopping foreign investors from providing cash infusions for big companies in distress is not an option, the only way to stop the bleeding is for the United States and other major consumers to break the strategic stronghold of oil over our transportation system. Congressional leaders can start doing so by mandating that every new car sold in the United States is capable of running on — in addition to gasoline — nonpetroleum fuels like alcohols, coal-based fuels and electricity made from domestic resources.
Terrible choice
To make a car flex-fuel so it can run on any combination of gasoline and alcohol would cost an automaker an extra $100 — the cost of one barrel of oil. If each passenger car and truck sold in America were flex fuel, the cost to automakers would be less than the $30 billion the Fed forked over last weekend to salvage Bear Stearns’ riskiest assets.
The United States is essentially facing a terrible choice between a financial meltdown and a metastasizing sovereignty loss, political decline and eventual enslavement to OPEC and its whims. It’s past time for Congress to recognize that the solution to our economic predicament lies in our garage.

The State as End-In-Itself
by J. R. Nyquist
Weekly Column Published: 12.07.2007
“The state, I call it, where all are poison-drinkers,
the good and the bad: the state, where all lose themselves, the good
and the bad: the state, where the slow suicide of all – is called
‘life.’”
- Friedrich Nietzsche, Thus Spake Zarathustra, 11
It was Friedrich Nietzsche who warned, long ago, that the state was becoming a substitute for God. “Everything will it give to you,” wrote Nietzsche, “if ye worship it, the new idol.” Without thinking, the masses look to government with the same hope of salvation they once found in religion. “Feed me,” they cry. “Give me work. Give me food stamps. Provide healthcare, childcare and retirement in my old age.”

From a very young age I have been almost radical anti-communist. I hated all the fear I felt during 'disaster drills', hiding under your desk at school, and wondering what would happen to my Mommy and Daddy and all those I loved when the 'Russians' sent 'The Bomb' to my little country community in Oklahoma...and if it didn't hit my area, the 'Reds' would still invade our peaceful little world and take me away from my family or kill them in front of me....oh it was agonizing for a child...(similar I suppose to what Algore is putting our children through now.) When the Soviet Union fell apart, I was elated, but that didn't last very long...KGB retained it's power and soon obviously was running the show....This article I'm posting is very frightening ....and few will ever read it and our 'leaders' will do nothing to stop it.
Defenseless and Stupid
by J. R. Nyquist
Weekly Column Published: 02.08.2008
A recent Pravda headline stated, “USA absolutely defenseless against possible attack from Russia or China.” Of course, this headline seems ludicrous to most Americans. But there is nothing ludicrous about it. In 1998 a leading Russian military defector told me that Russia and China could combine to defeat the United States in a future war. Yes, such a war is possible, even if the Americans think it’s some kind of joke. According to Pravda, “No matter how mighty it may seem, the United States of America is defenseless in the face of an external enemy. Neither the U.S. Army nor the National Guard will be able to rebuff a sudden attack due to the lack of military training and equipment.”
Pravda’s assessment of American strategic vulnerability refers to a 400-page study “prepared by the independent committee which the U.S. Congress set up to test the battling capacity of the national Armed Forces.” According to Pravda, “Any unexpected attack against the USA with the use of chemical, biological or nuclear weapons will become fatal for the [Americans]….”
